In 1997, the publisher was commissioned to write a commemorative volume on Karl von Hess for the 125th anniversary of the founder's death. Meanwhile, the foundation's tasks have changed, mainly in that it no longer operates a hospital. The publisher was therefore commissioned to issue a new commemorative volume for the 140th anniversary of the founder's death.
This not only allows the addition of colour pictures in the text, but also opens up the possibility of showing the history of the von Hess family from the 18th century onwards, as they rose up through the official aristocracy of the Würzburg and Fulda prince-bishoprics and in the Austrian Empire. A branch of the family who rose to the baronage in the Austrian Empire is shown for the first time. Baron Heinrich von Hess became General Feldzeugmeister (Lieutenant General). Freiherr Heinrich von Hess brachte es zum Generalfeldzeugmeister.
The book has 228 pages and contains numerous images, 50 of those in colour. It is available from all of the foundation's facilities and the Theresienbrunnen publishing house.
Price: 23 €
